Professional Haircare and Scalp Science (IPA-PR004)
Professional Haircare and Scalp Science is a complete scientific and practical course that gives participants specialised knowledge and professional skills in hair and scalp science, the principles of choosing haircare products, understanding their ingredients, assessing clients' needs and building care routines suited to each hair type and scalp condition. It is designed for pharmacists, pharmacy students and specialists in cosmetic pharmacy and haircare, through a curriculum that combines scientific fundamentals, applied case studies and interactive sessions, strengthening their ability to understand the hair growth cycle, analyse the factors that affect hair health, and tell common cosmetic problems apart from conditions that need medical assessment. The course runs over 3 months, with 8 weeks of actual study, combining scientific teaching, practical training and interactive learning, to give trainees a solid professional foundation in hair and scalp care and enable them to give more accurate and informed advice on hair products in pharmacies, care and beauty centres, product companies, or specialised education and marketing. The course goes beyond getting to know products: it focuses on understanding why a product is used, who it suits, how it is used, the limits of its benefits, and when the client should be referred to a medical specialist.
